Fine art reproductions
I have worked with local artists to photograph their work for them to keep a permanent, high quality digital copy, and also for high quality reproduction prints from companies such as Fruit Art.
There seem to be no resources for large scale scanning of images available, so using a Nikon D80 and shooting a RAW file in good natural sunlight allows high quality lossless images to be produced.
Below are some examples of images that we have digitised (click the image for a larger version), and the results and detail are so impressive that prints have been possible at larger-than-life sizes. This technique has worked equally as well for oil on canvas, pastel and textile pieces.
An image of Sheepwash, Osmotherley - note the cow in the background.
A close up reveals not one but two cows, and even the texture of the paint and canvas.
The Thames Barrier under construction, a highly detailed work, truly testament to Jane's skill with a brush. She's also done similar amazing work with the Tyne Tunnel and currently working on the demolition of the Trinity Square car park in Gateshead, made famous in the film Get Carter.
A close up reveals yet again more detail, even individual brush strokes.
Please contact me for more information or if you have some work that you would like to reproduce.
